Chapter 43. Victory in Sorrow

"Sarah! Please!" Matthew grabbed her hand when she was walking fast with teary eyes.

"Matthew, not now... Sarah spoke pleadingly.

"But..."

"Please, I need some time," she said as she slowly released Matthew's hand.

"You remember what I said, right? If there's even the slightest disapproval from your family, I'll have to end all of this," she said, trying so hard to be strong.

"It's just a misunderstanding. I'll explain to my mom, and everything will be fine," Matthew said pleadingly.

Sarah glanced at Matthew's mother and Amanda, who was staring intently at her. “Sorry, Matthew, I don't want to waste my time. Please don't follow me," she finally decided. She turned around and walked briskly, leaving Matthew standing still and staring at her sadly.
