Chapter 15

I was panting heavily like a bulldog while Duke and Lilian clapped for me.

“Woo! Nice work,” Lilian shouted, cheering me up.

“I knew you could do it,” Duke said, clapping.

Duke then told us to stand back and watch a new spell he would teach us. He opened his palm and said, “Sakashima Yokoshima a bo sa nai!”

Immediately, a wave of fire flashed from his hand and burnt almost everything in front of him! It was such destructive power, and Lilian wanted to try next, but what came out from her hand was nothing but a mere spark, and we were all laughing. I tried, and mine was still small but far bigger than Lilian’s, at least.

The whole day, we were making sure the cloak spell that surrounded the border was in check and that it was impenetrable. It was hard work at first, but this was my third time around the borders, so I could say that I was already getting used to the way things were done around here, and I liked it.
