I didn’t know what to say, so I just stammered and came up with, “Sir!”

He looked around for a while with his scary face and said, “When you are done, do all your necessary registrations and go home.”

“Yes, sir!” I shouted with my arms firmly by my sides, my face to the sky. He was leaving when I asked, “Where do I do all my necessary registrations, sir?”

“You will find your way around,” he answered and left.

I took a deep breath, calmed my nerves, and kept on cleaning the poop. At dusk, I was done with all the work and took my shovel along with my bucket to Sangeeta, asking her where I should get the necessary documents.

She told me to wash the bucket and the shovel, which I had already done. She helped me return them to the storehouse, led me to see someone, and told me that person would do all the registration.
