Chapter 25
Lucas’s POV
We entered an unfamiliar place, but I didn’t do anything or ask and just drove. I also didn’t know what was going on in Chantal’s brain, but she had been silent the whole trip.
It made me worried, but I just drove until we got to a bar nearby on the beach, and it was a beautiful view. I never got tired, even the few times I went and saw a site like this. It was already 5 pm when we arrived, and we left there around noon. The travel was too far, especially end-to-end destinations, but it was worth the drive.
“Hey,” I said to the woman peering out her window. “We are here,” I added.
Chantal just looked at me and went out. I did the same. I didn’t speak, and I just followed her.
Chantal led me to this mini bar-like restaurant and when she sat down, I did the same. Even in low spirits, you could still see the beauty she had, and I knew my heart was starting to throb for her, which was dangerous. Especially for now, she was hooked on Mateo
