Chantal’s POV

I pretended to be deaf about what he said and thought it was a joke.

“You want to what?” I asked, furious.

Mateo approached me, but I know our maid had a huge crush on him, so I also didn’t know how to stop him, and Mateo just came down, and he was in his shorts and t-shirt now.

“You’re the one I love, Chantal... Please believe me.” Mateo was about to cry as he approached me.

I didn’t believe him. But something inside me became soft, and it was sort of a soothing feeling. It was unexplainable.

“Me? No, you can’t be serious! This is cheating, Mateo! We are!” I lifelessly said to him while sitting on the sofa.
