Chantal’s POV

“Why didn’t you even tell anyone that you’d stay there? Don’t you know how upset we are with you?” Mateo yelled angrily.

I tried harder not to understand and just looked in the other direction. He held both my arms, which made my heart ache as if I couldn’t breathe.

“You should have stayed in your room. You shouldn’t have done that. You’re a woman, and you can’t sleep outside like that. What if someone like a man makes moves on you?!” Mateo asked me raising his voice.

“I never thought that action of mind would draw so much attention from you. You seem so preoccupied at the moment,” I told him yet still be looking in a different direction and not look into his eyes.

After that Mateo then released his grasp on my arm and that caused my heart to ache more, but we stayed like that, but then the elevator made some noise like something was coming out of it.
