Elaine’s mind replayed the words that Reiki had said to her when Melvin had offered to take her out so they could talk. In all honesty he was more put together and in charge of his emotions than she had ever seen him before. And in a way, that scared her.

This was the Melvin that she wanted, after all. The one that she had sworn that she would come back to if he rose from the dead. Here, he was in flesh holding her arms and asking her to take him back. Yet, she couldn’t give him a free answer of ‘yes’. Andrew had more of a stake on her than she had expected.
