Dahlia stared at the stone wall in front of her, a forlorn look on her face. The unforgiving cold tiles of the dungeon floor did nothing to deter her. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she mulled over the events of the day. How could everything go south in hours? Mariah was dead. That sweet girl who was the epitome of the rarest joy she felt in that manor was gone. Gerard's fate was unknown and he had just lost a dear friend. And finally, here she was locked up in a dungeon by her own brother. Her body shook again with sobs as she rocked herself gently against the wall. At this stage, it seemed like death would be a reprieve.
