I stumbled on the ground and then got up to see my rescuer’s face.

It was none other than Daniel. I have lost count of the time he has been there for me. I stumbled towards him with shaky and unstable legs, and he directly held me in his safe arms. He wrapped his protective arm around me as he looked at the damage Felix had done.

“Are you okay, Rose?” he asked in an extremely concerned voice. And I could not do anything else but nod because I wouldn’t have formed words even if I could’ve.

Daniel placed me by a free carefully as he said, “I have to go after him now. Will you be able to be on your own for a few minutes?” he asked me as he touched my bruised face and lips lightly, his eyes turned hard immediately.

“Hmm,” I nodded as I realized Felix had taken off. I can’t believe my plan failed, and now I was playing here like a lifeless log. Felix was smarter and more powerful than I anticipated him to be.
