Chapter 2
He hissed, "You certainly won't send your daughter to that beast. You're a pathetic alpha if you can't resolve this matter normally."
Since he had found a good argument I turned to the two. Jason's knee-jerk reaction had revived me, so the shock took a back seat.
That's when I heard Lilia, my inner wolf, in my head: "Layla, kill that man. If he sends us to Alpha Blackmoon, we can never find our mate or be with him."
I had jumped in shock because I had been too much in reality. I had completely forgotten my wolf.
Lilia snapped at me, "Layla! Our mate! Action needs to be taken!"
oh mate
I hadn't thought that far because all the new information was too much. But she was right, we could never have the perfect man by our side. With that, we were deprived of the possibility of eternal happiness with our soul mate.
At that thought, I let out a growl and said to Lilia, "Let me handle this." She cried out, "Kill that man!"
The trouble with wolves was that mate came first, so she really wanted to kill. She was sincere.
Thanks to the conversation with her, I hadn't heard the argument between my father and Jason. There was just a scuffle that was barely visible to my eye. They both acted at werewolf speed, making it impossible for me to see anything.
I automatically took a step back, only hearing when someone landed a hit.
Lilia yelled at me, "Move your ass and do something!"
Before I could react, Jason landed on his back and our dad was on top of him. Unfortunately, he was stronger until Jason took over as Alpha.
Both looked a bit battered from the fight and our dad gave him a deep growl. When he pulled out his wolf teeth, I was unstoppable.
It was practically suicide, but I would help my brother even if it killed me. I was about to storm off when my mum's voice thundered through the room, "What's going on here?!"
For how loudly we had argued, she came quite late. You had to have heard that from practically the whole house. It was a miracle that both of my sisters were absent. They were extremely curious and wanted to know practically everything.
She continued, "Elliot, will you let go of Jason? What's the matter with you guys?" That was very daring. Our dad couldn't physically hurt her since they were mates, but yeah, otherwise he could do whatever he wanted.
A miracle in the world happened because he let go of my brother and stood up. He wiped his shirt and then went to his desk. The man acted as if nothing had happened.
I rushed to my brother and knelt next to him. He sat up meanwhile and looked very angry. A laceration could be seen on his forehead, which had already begun to heal. At least he didn't appear to have sustained any serious injury.
This time our mum asked a little calmer: "What happened?" Jason replied snidely, "Ask your mate that." I looked at him worriedly, wanting to start a medical exam, but the look on his face told me I was better off staying still.
Our father said coldly, "Marbella, that's none of your business."
Goddess, could he just utter that one sentence?
It was all over my head, which is why I got up. My brother was getting by and I was in dire need of some fresh air.
I looked at my sire and said decisively, "I'm not going." With that, I turned and headed for the door. I got the unperturbed reply: "You're going to go very well, otherwise countless humans and werewolves will die. Bitch, you don't have a choice anymore! Unless you're a cold-hearted bitch who wants to see my entire territory destroyed!"
I ran past my mum and she asked in horror, "Please what?"
I heard Jason yell outraged, "You're a pathetic being selling Layla! I'll make every single day of the rest of your life a living hell!"
I left the house quickly and slammed the front door behind me. I took a deep breath, feeling constrained. My world was upside down and I wanted to scream or cry.
It was pure emotional chaos in me, which is why I didn't know what to do. Somehow I couldn't show any real reaction.
I ran across the garden to the edge of the forest. I needed to transform, and urgently. That way I could at least let something out.
I ran a few steps into the forest and then I turned into my wolf. That's why it tore my clothes, but I didn't care. It didn't matter at that moment.
The familiar sound of my bones breaking was heard as I began to transition into my wolf form.
The first few transformations were incredibly painful, but they got less and less each time. It was bearable now and didn't cause me much pain. Maybe that was because I was used to a lot in general.
Living under one roof with my father for 20 years caused a lot of injuries. So I knew it well.
My white paws showed up shortly after and I started chasing immediately. I knew exactly where I was going, so I turned right.
The forest was as familiar as the back of my hand, so I took a shortcut and ran through the middle of the forest.
Lilia chimed in by saying, "Layla, there's no way we're going to this Blackmoon. Never. I want to find our mate, get married, and have my happy ending."
No, what she didn't say. This discussion was pointless at that moment and too much for me. But I could understand her urge to talk about it.
So I stayed calm and replied, "Neither do I. This beast usually does something to us. The rumors are no coincidence."
My paws flew across the forest floor, barely touching the ground. The faster I got to my destination, the better.
Lilia sighed and said: "I agree with you. There shouldn't be a more cruel man. We can't go there. That's a bottomless cheek and I will kill your father. After that, Jason is the Alpha and with Alpha Blackmoon he will be a better solution working out."
This plan was pure madness. We could never kill him, my father was too strong for that. He may be a universally hated alpha, but he had his followers as well. Loyal submissive dogs who served him and did whatever he wanted.
However, I had to bring her into reality before she built more castles in the air got lost in this idea, and was bitterly disappointed in the end. One of us had to stay rational and in that case, I was the one.
" Lilia, please listen carefully and let me finish." The sweetheart was far too willing to interrupt when she was upset or upset. I had to clarify that beforehand.
She grumbled, which I took as a yes. I continued, "Jason and my mum are now arguing with him. So we'll see what the three come up with."
I just jumped over a small stream and easily without touching the water. After that, the sprint continued.
I also spotted a deer running away. They were afraid of us even though we never harmed them. But it was understandable, if I were a real wolf I would hunt it.
Surprisingly, Lilia remained silent, probably thinking about it. It was on my mind right now because otherwise, we were an unbeatable team. Currently, that was a different case in our discussion.
I had to slow my run because a fallen tree came into my field of vision. It was a large tree that was not quite on the ground as it was being held up by another tree. At my height, it was easier if I crawled through the bottom.
I squeezed under it and then increased my speed again.
It was as if I was trying to escape the cruel reality with this run. However, that was pure nonsense.
Suddenly, a terrible realization hit me.
My father was never dissuaded from an idea or action. He did everything that came to his mind. According to him, the contract had long been signed. That meant I had no choice.
If Alpha Blackmoon wanted to kill everyone and everything, then I had to go. A ruined life was better than countless people's.
My wolf seemed to have overheard my thoughts because she said angrily, "No, I'll never speak to you again if you do that. Never again!" To underline it, she isolated herself, which is why she was unreachable to me.
I didn't complain because it was pointless and I had to deal with my thoughts. For that, I needed rest, which my wolf could not give me.
