Liam leaned against the doorframe, his expression calm but firm. “Begging? Threatening? Let’s not be dramatic, Anna. I offered you an opportunity and I was upfront about the stakes. This isn’t some casual part-time gig. This is something that will change your life.”
“Me being a secretary?” She asked, raising her eyebrows. “And can you please stop with the gaslighting?”
He scoffed and then sighed. “Are you in or not?”
“I’m not dropping out of school.”
“Okay, sure. But you would have to do it online then, agreed?”
“I think I need more time to think about this,” She replied, standing to her feet.
“Well, the offer expires in an hour. At first, I was way too motivated to get you to work with us but now, I realize that you’re not special. There are a lot of people out there like you or even better.”
