Chapter 33. Drained
“That’s the thing, Zac, you warned me. But I did not listen. Sh*t, my mom warned me about trying to do things on my own when we all had just faced something traumatic, yet I did not listen, did I?” Anna scoffed, adjusting herself in the car seat.
Zac wanted to say something but he just decided to keep it to himself. He sighed and then pressed on the gas, causing them to start moving. The ride back to the apartment was a bit quieter than usual.
And this time, it was not the normal kind of silence. It was more of the kind where tension hung in the air. After the guy had parked and killed the engine, both of them removed their seatbelts and sat there, not saying anything to each other until one of them broke
