Chapter 37. Regrets

Anna clenched her fists, her calm facade threatening to crumble. “Fate did not hand me this, Liam. And you know it. It was you. You planned all of this. And I’m sorry to say but I do not trust you.”

He tilted his head, his smirk fading into a more neutral expression. “Do you think I manipulated you? That I forced you into something against your will? Anna, there were witnesses there when you signed the employment contract. You did so willingly, and even wanted us to give your friend a job too, remember?”

“My boyfriend,” She corrected him.

He rolled his eyes. “I wish that I believed that, but I don’t. Maybe you two have the label but it does not look like a relationship to me.”

“We’re not talking about Zac and me right now. We’re talking about you. Why did you hire me, Liam? I need you to be honest with me.” She stared at him as she waited for an answer, but she could tell from his facial expression that she was not going to get one.
