Chapter 53. The Text Message

Anna’s eyes bulged as she stared at the message, her heart dropping to the pit of her stomach. She read it over and over as if it was going to change or something. But it did not. It stared right back at her as if daring her to try to do something about it. 

She swallowed, her throat immediately feeling dry. She needed to show this to Zac, but most importantly, she needed to show this to the police. But as soon as she was about to head for the door when she glanced at the screen of the phone again, the message was no longer there. 

She furrowed her brows, feeling very confused as she stood in one place again. She went to the message app and looked through all her recent messages but there was nothing like the one she had just read; the one that had caused a chill to run down her spine.
