Chapter 59. Stranger Danger
The voice was smooth, almost amused, but there was an underlying threat beneath it that sent a chill down her spine. She knew the person speaking though, the voice was very familiar. And knowing who it was just made her even more scared.
Her grip tightened around her phone as she turned slowly, her heart hammering against her ribs. A dark figure stood in the doorway of her bedroom, half shrouded in shadow.
The dim light from the hallway illuminated just enough for her to see the edges of his features—the confident smirk, the piercing green eyes.
It was Liam.
Her stomach twisted at the realization. “I swear, I will call the police right now if you don’t tell me what you’re doing in my apartment.”
“No, you’re not going to do that, Anna. Do you want to know why?” He chuckled, placing his hands in his pockets. He was so confident.
