Chapter 54. Expensive Cabs

Anna knew that Zac was lying, and usually, she felt like he was good at it, but maybe it was because he was caught in the moment so that was why he was not so smooth with it. 

But instead of bringing it up as an issue and calling him on his lie, she just forced a smile and nodded. 

“I have to go now,” He said, flashing her another smile. “Have a good day, Anna. I love you.” He did not even wait for her to say it back, he was already on his way out the door. 

She did say it back though, but she just mumbled it so she knew that he certainly had not heard her. When he was gone, she knew that she had to wait a few minutes before leaving the apartment, and she also knew that she would have to take a cab since he would be taking the company-issued car.
