But Anna could see that the girl knew something. It was written all over her face and body language.
“Alright,” She finally said, leaning forward slightly. “But I need you to understand that I don’t know everything. I only know bits and pieces—things I have overheard, things Liam has let slip.”
Anna nodded, urging her to continue. “That’s fine with me. I just need to know something.”
Carly sighed. “Well, Liam’s company…it’s not just a tech firm or a finance company or whatever the hell people assume it is. At least that’s what I know. It’s a front, Anna.”
“A front?” Anna’s stomach twisted.
Carly nodded. “For something much bigger. And much, much darker.”
