Chapter 55. Caught?

Before Anna could even turn to look at who was right next to her, she could tell who it was already.

“I thought you were supposed to be off work today, and for the rest of the week. Why are you here?” 

Anna finally turned and locked eyes with Liam. He had a smug look on his face as if he knew something that she did not, and it kind of annoyed her. “I know, and I’m here for personal reasons.” 

“What do you mean by personal reasons?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. Then without even waiting for her to reply to the question, he turned to the guy behind the desk and asked, “What did she ask you for?” 

Anna’s heart dropped. She really did not want to get Carly in trouble, but most importantly, she did not want to get Carly killed. She would never be able to forgive herself if she did that. 

The man looked a bit uncomfortable. He peeled his eyes off Liam and looked at Anna for a few seconds before looking back at the man. Then he cleared his throat
