Chapter 101. Life and Death

The moment felt magical and Anna could feel her heart thumping in her chest. She felt like this was pulled right out of a romance novel and had never thought she would be feeling this way, but she was.

She stared at Zac as the butterflies danced in her stomach. But she knew that they did not have all the time in the world.

“Anna…” he said her name softly.

“I know,” she replied, her face heating up. She then reached for the bag that was right next to the guy and took out the wads of cash.

She gave him his portion and then placed the rest back into the bag, her heart still thumping in her chest due to what had just happened between both of them.

Zac took the money and then put them in the pockets of the jacket that he was wearing. He flashed her a soft and warm smile before peeling his eyes away and adjusting his baseball cap on his head and stepping out of the car.
