Chapter 160. The Mysterious Door

The hallway ahead was quieter, almost eerily so, with soft lighting that cast long shadows along the polished floors. 

Pictures lined the walls, all portraits of people she didn’t recognize, faces frozen in time, their eyes staring back at her with a mix of serenity and distance. 

There was something strange about these photos, the way they seemed to follow her every step. Perhaps it was the unfamiliarity or the absence of their identities that made them unsettling.

A few doors were scattered along the walls, none of them particularly noteworthy, but one stood out.
