Chapter 162. How Do I Get Out of This?

“Anna,” Vito said, his voice lowering, “you’ve already come this far. You have proof, real, solid proof that could take Victor down. You can’t walk away now.”

But she wasn’t listening. Her gut was screaming at her. It was telling her that something was not right. Was she just supposed to ignore it?

This was too easy. Victor was meticulous, cautious to the point of paranoia. He never left doors unlocked, never left his computer unprotected.

Unless…

Anna’s stomach dropped. Unless he wanted her to find this. Or she was being watched in some way.

Cameras. She needed to look for cameras. 

Looking around on the ceiling, there were no obvious ones. But the feeling of being watched just wouldn’t go away, no matter what.

Something definitely wasn’t right. And if it was paranoia, then that was going to be a win for them. But for now, it didn’t feel like that.
