Chapter 161. Too Easy

As the hot water rained over her skin, Anna forced herself to take slow, steady breaths. She needed to stay calm. Needed to think this through.

The computer was locked, but that didn’t mean it was impenetrable. People were careless. They left clues behind. Sticky notes, auto-filled passwords, or even something as simple as using a birth date or pet’s name. 

Victor was powerful, but he was still human. And humans made mistakes.

By the time she stepped out of the shower, her resolve had solidified. She was going back. She had made up her mind. 

Dressing in dark, comfortable clothes, she sat on the edge of her bed, waiting. Her heart thumped in her chest as she went over what she was going to do in her head. 

The minutes ticked by so slowly, as if they were mocking her, reminding her that she was nothing but a coward who was hiding under the guise of being brave.
