Anna ran a shaky hand through her hair. She had to be careful.

She knew Victor wasn’t stupid. People like him never were. If he had the slightest suspicion, he would push until he got the truth out of her. 

And if that happened, she was as good as dead.

It was crazy and comical how she was always in danger for the past few weeks. It was like she could not even catch a break.
