Chapter 58. Renewed Hope
Anna could not stop thinking about what was going to happen. Next, her heart pounded in her chest when her mind replayed how her brother had gotten shot and how her father was knocked out.
These people were not to be played with. Why did she even think that they would have been able to subdue the Marinos?
Sleep soon stole her away, and she woke up with a dull headache. A knock sounded at her door and she yawned as it was opened. It was the lady with the bleached blond hair. She had a tray of food in her hands.
She was being very nice. She walked over and handed it over to Anna. “Here, get something to eat so I can drive you all to the station soon. After what you all explained to me last night, I don’t think you should wait any longer.”
Anna nodded. “Thank you very much,” she replied, flashing a smile before taking the tray of food from her. Anna watched her walk out of the room, and when the door closed, she dug into the food.
She was incredibly hungry
