Shantelle’s POV
“Keshon!”
“Shantelle!”
I rolled my eyes, wondering what she was trying to do, hiding inside the cafeteria when I had been looking up and down for her.
“Why are you here?” I asked.
She wasn’t a cafeteria kind of person. I was the one who always made her come here. This was where I scouted for new people to crush on. I couldn’t do that in my classroom, so I did it in the cafeteria.
I loved looking at people and how they pulled off their outfits. I would have wanted to be a fashion designer, but my mama shunned the idea from the start. She didn’t want me talking about things like that. It was like she wanted me to be a doctor or a lawyer. I didn’t want to be any of that, but I wasn’t going to have that conversation with her.
“Cause I was hungry. I needed to eat if I was going to take my medication,” Keshon replied.
