Shantelle’s POV
“Mama, I am not stupid, neither am I dumb… I need to know what’s happening,” I told Mama. She looked like she was the one keeping things from me, the one holding them back from telling me anything. It seemed like she was the one I was supposed to be facing, not Papa or Reginald. That was what I was going to have to sort out.
“In due time,” Mama said as she finally went to the kitchen, like I was done with what I was saying.
This wasn’t the end; we were just starting, and she was leaving the room like she didn’t know we were not done.
Mama was always this way; she didn’t like confrontation, but she was going to get one. This wasn’t going to end this way. I was going to get answers, even if I didn’t like what the answers to my questions would be.
“Then nobody should police me. I will go wherever I want and come back whenever I please,” I said, damning the consequences. I was sick of all of this. It was time I shifted what was happen
