Chapter 64. Who Is That?

"Are you crazy?" Marissa asked in disbelief as she gaped at the man standing in front of her with apparent determination, "You want what done?"

"You heard me the first time," Bernard replied in a curt tone.

"You... you want to do a D.N.A. on an unborn child? What nonsense are you spouting for God's sake?" Marissa was beyond herself with rage.

"Oh, don't you worry yourself. Doctors have been carrying out the test on fetuses for decades, and it has been foolproof. It is a painless procedure and..."

"I know about the mechanics of the test, you idiot," she said between clenched teeth. Breathe, breathe, she repeated to herself as she knew she was this close to attacking him. Why he brings out her aggressive side, she doesn't know. She just knew that everything with him had always been intense; he made her mad like no one else ever had, and he made her feel things like no other person.

Feelings she had never thought she would ever have because of any man.
