Chapter 80
God 3: Neath
My name is Neath. This is the story of how I became a god.
No, literally.
It was a hot day, the bright Egyptian sun was feeling particularly flamboyant. My friends, Seta and Hopi were having lunch with me in the streets of Memphis when our lives changed forever, in a very typical way.
We were abducted by some guards.
It happened really quickly, one moment we were sharing a loaf of bread and some water, the next we had dark bags thrown over our heads and were dragged by strangers, struggling, thrown into the back of a cart and whisked away like bales of corn.
I had an idea who was responsible, I had no particular interest in seeing him again and I prayed to Osiris and Anubis and all of the other, lesser known ones to spare me the trouble of seeing him. Apparently they were on some extended vacation or something because when the bag got removed, I was kneeling in the presence of the biggest, baldest criminal in all of Egypt.
