Chapter 20. Fight for Her Honor

Nick parked his car in the college parking lot and rushed to his class. He had been working late as an emergency had cropped up at his hotel, so he couldn't wake up early today. He sat down beside Darren, trying to catch his breath. 

"Porty's about to come in anytime," said Darren. Nick nodded. 

"Yeah, I woke up late, bro," he told him.

"Aren't you overworking yourself?" asked Darren. 

"There was an emergency, " said Nick. The door opened and Porty walked into the class, followed by Iris. Nick looked down at his own books, getting ready for the class. It had been nearly ten days since he had last spoken to Iris. After that last message, he stayed away from both father and daughter. The class started as usual and Porty started giving them the corrected answer scripts of their assessment, which were held two days back.
