Chapter 29. His Proposal
The kiss stirred them equally, igniting the fire which had been dormant for so long. Denver's lips coaxed a passionate response out of her, surprising her totally. She had been labeled as a cold-blooded woman by Francis and she had never protested against it. She didn't need to prove anything to him. But Denver? Denver's kiss turned her into a wild, hungry lioness. It stirred her soul, excited her body, and made her feel alive.
They deepened the kiss, not getting enough of the other as they clung to one another. Clutching, groping, sucking, they kissed like two wild creatures who had united after so many years. This time, there was no one to stop them, no one to punish them. They were free. Free to love one another. They had grown up.
"Denver, I missed you so much," she whispered, clinging to his shoulders.
"I missed you more," he said, crushing her to himself.
"No, you didn't. If you had, you would see me," said Sapphire.
