Chapter 9. Was It a Date?

Ryan happily made mac and cheese and fried a packet of chicken nuggets for dinner. Dylan sliced the apricot plum cake Victoria had bought from the store earlier. 

"How's it?" asked Ryan, eagerly watching Victoria for her reaction. 

Victoria loved what he cooked as much as she loved him. "It's perfect, but I'll eat anything you make, Ryan, " she admitted in a low voice. Dylan and Dana were busy fighting over the last piece of cake and thankfully didn't pay any attention to them. Ryan stared at her. He was touched by what she had just said. A slow smile spread over his face at the realization. 

"Be ready by 6 o'clock tomorrow, " he said, his eyes shining with excitement. Victoria rolled her eyes. It was only a grocery shopping spree after all, but the way he mentioned it, anyone could mistake it for a date.
