Chapter 11. Nate Breaks off with Her Finally

Drake walked over to the edge and stood behind her. “Alexie,” he breathed. Alexis froze, hearing his voice. She had been waiting all the time to talk to him, but after waiting the whole day, she realized that talking to her wasn’t a priority for him. Seeing that he was getting ready to leave again without acknowledging her presence, she ran out of the house and hid herself at the pier. 

Did she really hear his voice, or was she hallucinating? Turning around, she saw him standing right behind her. The faint lights from their front yard cast a halo around him. Startled, she stood up and wiped her eyes.

“You didn’t leave yet?” she asked with nervousness. 

“No, I was looking for you,” said Drake.

“Why?” asked Alexis. 

“I’ve talked to everyone else. So, I just felt that I needed to say goodbye to you too,” shrugged Drake, his eyes watching her closely. With her face glowing like the moon, even in the faint light, he could see the telltale s
