Chapter 11. Are You in Love with Me?

The doctor in charge revived Nate, and he opened his eyes and looked at Claire standing beside him. “Thank God, Nate, what were you up to, huh?” she scolded him, clutching at his hands. Nate grasped onto her hands, not wanting to let go, and blinked with disbelief at her. He had thought that he would die, but now he was so thankful to be alive. 

The doctor had left after conducting the necessary tests. The first aid had been given, and the police left since the injury wasn’t much.  As they awaited the results, Claire sat on the chair beside his bed. Francis had left to shut the bakery shop in Claire’s absence. 

“You gave me a fright. Do you want me to inform your family about this?” she asked him. Nate shook his head slowly. Everyone would be here if she told even one of them. His mom would take him home with her and not allow him to stay there alone.
