Chapter 10. Nate Has an Accident

Claire quickly got ready and rushed out to the parking area. Climbing into her car, she drove towards her bakery. How she forgot the track of time when with Nate, she had no idea! She rushed into the bakery to see that it was still functioning, with the team all doing their duties well. However, Francis seemed to have a permanent scowl on his face since the moment she entered. 

“What’s wrong with you?” Claire asked him as she helped Rosetta with the day’s special orders. Francis gave her a look.

“Nothing! I’m just heartbroken,” Francis said with a frustrated scowl. 

“Don’t take out your feelings on the food, please. I’m sure your mood will improve,” said Claire with a smile. 

“I’m trying, Claire. So, how was your date last night?” he asked her. Claire had an inkling that maybe his mood somehow was related to last night’s incident.
