Chapter 12. Staying with Claire

Nate sat watching her as a million questions erupted into his mind but he dared not ask her anything. What if she decided to change her mind and dump him in his own apartment? He couldn’t erase the grin from his face. Claire glanced at his silly grin every job and then rolled her eyes. He really was crazy! Who crosses the road in that manner? 

“Creep!” she muttered with a small smile on her lips. Nate’s grin widened as if she had called him by an endearment and yet he kept watching her.

“Stop staring! Aren’t you injured?” she reminded him. He nodded slowly.

“I’m in so much pain. Will you skip your work today?” he asked hopefully. Claire looked concerned. She had informed Aries that she had brought him home. With him needing her help, she knew she wouldn’t be able to make it to the bakery soon. Maybe later, after he was taken care of. 

“Maybe later,” she said, parking her car in the basement parking area. She climbed out and helped him out as well.
