The next day, Iris woke up early and got ready for college. She had decided that she wouldn't talk to Nicholas from now on. All her life she tried to please her dad, but whatever she did, he was never happy with her. Her mom had become fed up with pleasing Eric Davenport and finally gave up and shifted to her parents' house in New York, taking a ten-year-old Iris along with her.
