Chapter 11. Intense Feelings
"Isn't it my favorite boy?" said granny, hugging Nick. Nick's cheeks colored a little as he eyed Iris. "I'm a grown man granny, not a boy anymore," he corrected her, still eyeing Iris. Iris got her laptop and sat down on the sofa to start off with the project in case her dad felt better and came down to check.
"Come on Nicholas, we don't have all day," she said, feeling a little jealous of the attention that Nicholas was receiving from granny.
"She still calls you that? I thought you were smarter," said granny with a look of disapproval.
"I am. I made progress. She forgets sometimes and calls me Nick instead," grinned Nick.
"What are you two whispering about?" scowled Iris.
"Nothing," they chorused. Nick went and sat beside Iris on the sofa. Granny chuckled seeing the two together and went to her room, leaving them alone. Iris was acutely aware of his thighs brushing against hers as he accessed the laptop to open his email account.
