Chapter 15.. Lost in One Another

The lyrics of the song Nick sang to her overwhelmed Iris. What did it all mean? Did he really like her romantically or in a friendly way? She was confused. She had nil experience with men and Nicholas was difficult for her to figure out.

When the song ended, she flashed him a shy smile and went in search of Vienna. It seemed that Vienna had left the party after Sean blasted her for dancing in front of everyone so candidly. She went inside to help Nick's mom.

"Aunt Pauline, should I serve the appetizers now?" she asked eagerly, wanting to occupy herself with something. Anything was better than facing Nicholas Taylor. Nick's mom, who was arranging the appetizers onto platters, looked up and smiled at her.

"Yes dear, please help me with these," she said with a smile. Iris eagerly helped her serve everything onto decorative platters and carried them to the table outside. Nick came up to take the tray from her hands.
