Chapter 30. Claimed
Elara POV
The pack house is bustling with excitement. The Winter Solstice Celebration is just a day away, and everyone is working hard to make sure it will be perfect. I have been dying to help out, but the triplets have insisted that I rest. Despite my many, many protests, I have been planted on the couch by Zeke and told not to move.
Mom rushes by with her arms full of binders. They are slipping from her grasp, one at a time, and she is cussing under her breath. Quickly, I get up and take several from her.
“I thought the triplets instructed you to rest,” she says with a smile on her face.
“I am tired of sitting,” I pout. “I need to move around.”
“When they come fussing at you, it won’t be my fault,” she laughs.
“Let them fuss,” I groan. “They are acting like overbearing mates. Perhaps they will find their mates tomorrow, and I will be able to breathe again.”
Once the words exit my mouth, I know they are a lie. Without the triplets’
