Chapter 86. Reading Minds

Zeus POV

I have been hiding out in the living room of the pack house. My eyes are closed, and my fingers are stuffed in my ears. Cinder was right. The thoughts of these fucking werewolves are so loud, but I have found if I can’t see them, I can’t hear them. My fingers in my ears are just added protection.

Someone kicks my foot, and my eyes fly open. Cinder is standing in front of me, but there are no thoughts coming from her head. Slowly, I pull my fingers away and wait for the flood of her thoughts to enter my mind. But I am met with silence.

“Thank fuck,” I groan. “It is gone.”

“No,” she laughs, sitting down beside me. “I am keeping you from getting inside.”

I flop back down on the couch and throw my hand over my head. “How do I make it stop? I am sick of hearing everyone’s deepest, darkest secrets. Did you know that Iris is fucking someone on the Elder Council. IRIS! She’s like a million years old. I will never get that image out of my mind.”<
