"Congratulations, girl!" Julie exclaimed over the phone. "You need to focus on what's important here. Which would you choose from the available options? You've got three. One, homelessness. Two, squatting on David's property, and three, working side-by-side with that hunk?" 

Solana's only reply was silence. She just wanted someone to repeat aloud what she had been telling herself all day. It was the only reason she was pretending to ask for the girl's advice. It felt better to feign indecision considering her history with the "hunk."
