Chapter 79

"Just to clarify, when I mentioned that you were a good person, it was not an invitation for you to follow me to my house." Scarlett remarked while she emerged onto the balcony, her arms crossed over her chest. Sheila let her know that there was someone at the door waiting for her, and recognizing his scent, she realized it was Jerry. She was filled with questions, and his presence here was the foremost concern. 

Jerry lifted his hands in a gesture of surrender and moved a step ahead. "I understand, but it is been a week since we went out. I have not received any communication from you. I do not have your number, which means I could not contact you. I just wanted to check in and see if you are doing alright. I apologize if it was perceived wrongly by you. That was never my intention."

She reminded him, "If I wished to contact him, I would seek Hector's assistance." 

He acknowledged with a nod. "That is correct. I suppose I will return to my waiting."
