"Are you going to shift tonight?" Sheila inquired, and Scarlett shifted her gaze from the window, where she had been looking out, to face her. She gave a nod. It was crucial for her to shift that evening beneath the full moon. She required strength, and this was the only method through which the moon goddess enabled her children to achieve it.
"I have to, but in this human realm, I would likely be the only one shifting." The realm of humans is quite welcoming for beings like us, yet I must seek out a space that is suitable for shifting and hunting."
"Although we reside in the city, there are distant rural areas." Said Sheila.
"I need to head over there."
Sheila wore an expression of concern as she gazed at Scarlett. "Is that going to be safe for you?"
Scarlett smiled, moved by her concern for her. "As a werewolf, I possess the ability to protect myself from any human who may attempt to attack me."
