Book 2: Chapter 11

Martina slowly regained consciousness, her body feeling heavy and disoriented. A faint tapping sound pulled her from the darkness, followed by a familiar voice calling her name.

"Martina... Martina, wake up!"

Her eyes fluttered open, and she instinctively recoiled, ready to defend herself. Panic surged through her as she prepared to attack whoever was near. Her memory filled with Ares pinning her down and his bodyguard injecting her. 

"Martina, it's me! Calm down!" The voice was gentle but urgent. "Babes, it's me."

Martina blinked, her vision clearing. She saw Camila's concerned face hovering above her. She was back in her room, the familiar surroundings bringing a brief sense of relief before the memories flooded back.

"Camila?" Martina's voice was hoarse, her throat dry. She struggled to sit up, her body protesting with every movement.

"Yes, it's me," Camila said softly, helping Martina into a sitting position. "Calm down. You're safe now B
