Lara sits in the dimly lit corner of the enigmatic enclave, her hands tightly clasped on her lap. Her gaze darts from face to face, taking in the hardened facial details of the members of the gathering, her ears pricked for any useful tidbit. She isn’t even eavesdropping, not really; but merely observing.
Tension buzzes through the air like static electricity as the men across the table keep exchanging suspicious glances at intervals, and ignoring her as though she is invisible in the occasion. But she is conspicuous. She doesn't mind. As long as in the end, someone explains to her what her role is in whatever they’re talking about.
To her surprise, the meeting ends early, without her grabbing a bit of what they discussed. She flashes a puzzled glare around as the men begin to leave, their scrutinizing gazes lingering on her for a bit on exit. This leaves a bitter taste in her mouth, heightening her senses.
