Chapter 86. Moments

Lara checks her wrist watch, the time is six in the evening. An hour or less before Chris returns home. She can still hear the sound of her sons playing somewhere close by and wishes to tell them to keep quiet or go to sleep, but she can’t. Her bones and muscles complain of fatigue yet there she is in the kitchen dishing out dinner— Vegetable sauce and Chinese rice.

She had managed to learn how to make some delicacies over the years, especially from online videos and tutorials. After all, she must feed her family. Chris had suggested hiring a cook but then it would have been too heavy on the monthly budget. Now that he is a consultant, earning huge paychecks, she seems to have found joy in cooking for her family and has not brought it up again.
