As the alpha’s beta, Leon knew that he had to be the one to tell Maddox about everything. Not just about his mom, but also about Cassie being turned into a vampire. He knew that the guy hated secrets, but there was no going back in time, so yeah.

All he could do at the moment was to try to make things right by telling the alpha everything.

Driving, he kept his eyes on the road, but he was deeply in his mind. It felt like his body was the only thing that was present while his soul and mind were elsewhere. His heart was pounding in his chest and anxiety was choking him, suffocating him very slowly.

“Have you figured out how we are going to tell him yet?” The omega asked.

He kept looking at the road. Then he cleared his throat a bit before replying, “You don’t have to worry about it, I will be the one to tell him. I’m his beta, and his friend.”

“No, Leon, you don’t have to do this alone. I want to help.”

“And I am saying that I don’t want you to.” He
