Gabbie POV

“Are you feeling sick again, Gabbie?” Emery asked as she prepared for her night out in my room.

“I’m fine I’m just tired.”

She turned around holding a red lipstick tube. “You don’t look good. Think we should see a specialist or a witch.”

I giggled. “We don’t need to see a witch. I just need to sleep.”

“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay with you?”

“What? No, go have fun. You deserve it.” I waved her off.

I would forever be grateful Emery chose to the academy with me to settle in a human town. I didn’t tell her about Alex’s offer even though I knew she would be supportive.
