Chapter 88
Gabbie POV
The front door was bolted shut. I kicked and pounded on it, but it wouldn't give way. Even with my wolf strength, I couldn't get the door to open.
“Damn it!”
I ran around back. The scent of burning wood was suffocating. I found the back door boarded up. It took a whole team to do this.
I yanked on the planks of wood and ripped them off the door.
Thank goodness for my wolf!
The fire spread, and parts of the house fell. Black smoke blanketed the sky.
“Kade!”
Please be okay. "Wait for me, I'm coming," I pleaded.
Everything crumbled around me, but all I could think of was him. My furniture went up in flames, and my kitchen was consumed. He wasn’t here. I ran upstairs. This fire was set by professionals. Everything went up too quickly for it to be an amateur.
“Kade!”
The stairs would give out at any moment.
“Gabbie! No, get out of here.” He coughed several times.
