Book 4: Seeking Annabeth’s Help
Stavros’s POV
I drove over to the far end of Lucania where Annabeth lived. I once visited her with Alpha Demetrius, Zeph, and my father when I was five years old. Yet I remembered the way to her house. It took me almost an hour to reach there, negotiating through the treacherous roads. Why did she live so far away in the most inhospitable area of Lucania?
At last, I reached and parked my car right in front of her dilapidated cottage. The smoke billowing out of her chimney was the only giveaway of her presence inside. I trudged up the moss-covered steps and knocked on the rickety door.
There was no response.
After five minutes, I knocked louder. Yet there was no response. I was about to give up and leave when the door creaked open and Annabeth peered out. She didn’t at all look surprised to see me. It seemed she knew I was here on her doorstep.
